Introduction

Regional Rural Banks operate on the state level. They serve basic banking services to rural They are sponsored by nationalized banks. RRB's may have branches set up for urban operations and their area of operation may include urban areas as well.

IBPS conducts recruitment drive for RRB’s once in a year. The exam is conducted for various posts including General banking officers, specialist officers and office assistant with varying age and educational eligibilities.

Pay scale will vary according to bank and post. Candidate can apply for only one post.

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria is mentioned below.

Each of the participating banks may stipulate its own eligibility/ qualifying criteria, followed by Interviews etc. Good knowledge of the local language is a necessary requirement in candidates applying for the posts of officer scale-I and office assistants in the participating RRBs. Consequently the candidates will be required to submit information regarding local language(s) studied in matriculation/ 10+2/ graduation in the online application form. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the CWEs scores will therefore be able to apply to only those RRBs situated in the states whose local language they have studied in matriculation/ 10+2/ graduation.

Educational qualifications & experience

Post : Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

Educational Qualification: Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent

(a) Essential: Proficiency in local language

(b) Desirable: Knowledge of Computer skills.

Post: Officer Scale-I

Educational Qualification:

(i) Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy;

(ii) Proficiency in local language *

(iii) Computer knowledge or awareness will be an added qualification.

General Banking Officer

Educational Qualification: Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.

Experence

Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

Post: Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers

Information Technology Officer:

Degree from a recognised University in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

Desirable:

Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc.

Experence

One year.

Chartered Accountant Certified Associate (CA)

Chartered Accountant Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Experence

One year.

Law Officer:

Degree from a recognised University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Experence

Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period not less than two years

Treasury Manager:

Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution

One year.

Ratio and proportions, Average & Ages Ratio & Proportion, Number series, Pie charts, Bar graphs, Line graphs. Mixed graphs, Case study, Mensuration, Permutations and combinations, Data tables, Probability. Simple and compound interest problems, etc

English language section:

Spotting errors, Phrase substitution, Jumbled up sentences, Double blanks in a sentence. Fill in the blank Idioms & Phrases, Reconstruction of sentence & passage. One word substitution, Commonly misspelled words, Comprehensions. Synonyms and antonyms.

General awareness:

History of Banking , Banking terms, Current affairs of last 1 Year, Countries/Currencies, Indian Economy, International Economy. Books & Their Authors, RBI, Fiscal Monetary Policies, Repo rate, Reverse repo rate etc., Social Function of Banks, UNO, Marketing, Awards & Honors Sports, Finance, Agriculture etc

Computer knowledge:

History and Future of Computers, Basic computer fundamentals, Basic Software & Hardware and their functionalities, Networking, Computer abbreviation, Basic knowledge of Internet use, Shortcut keys, Syllabus of MS-CIT, etc
