Rajya Seva Exam
Maharashtra Public Services Commission popularly known as MPSC, is entrusted with the responsibility of recruiting right candidates for Maharashtra Government. MPSC conducts several exams for several posts but most important among them is State Services Exam. IN Marathi it is known as राज्यसेवा परीक्षा.
The posts that are recruited through state services exams are influential one’s. They include Deputy Collector, Dy SP, Sales Tax Commissioner, Tahasildar, Asst Regional Traffic Officer, Audit Officer, Block Development Officers , Nayab Tahsildar, etc.
By Age limit:
Relaxation of 5 years for reserved categories like OBC, SC ST etc.
Graduation from any faculty and with any percentage.
Current events of state, national and international importance.
History of India (with special reference to Maharashtra) and Indian National Movement.
Maharashtra, India and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of Maharashtra,India and the World.
Maharashtra and India - Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj,Urban Governance, Public Policy, Rights issues, etc.
Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change-that do not require subject specialisation.
CSAT Paper II - (200 marks)
Interpersonal skills including communication skills.
Logical reasoning and analytical ability.
Decision - making and problem - solving.
General mental ability.
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation(Charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.- Class X level)
Marathi and English Language Comprehension skills (Class X/XII level).
Exam is conducted in three stages
Preliminary Exam : 2 papers of 200 marks each
Paper 1: General Studies
Paper 2: Civil Services Aptitude Test

Negative marking applied
Successful candidate must get 45 %(general category) and 40% (backward classes) of overall marks. And 35% (General category) and 30% (backward classes) in each subject.
Interview: 100 marks
Based on past experience Exam is announced in May / June and conducted in July /August
